The Billing and Customer Service Department handles the daily operations of billing and customer service for the City of Donaldsonville, ensuring accurate billing processes and exceptional customer support. The department assists the Mayor in preparing the annual operating and capital improvement budgets and maintains records of the City's indebtedness, ensuring timely payment of principal and interest. Code Enforcement
The Code Enforcement Officer shall have the authority to enforce all codes of the City of Donaldsonville, including but not limited to Zoning Ordinance, Historic District Ordinance, Building Codes, Plumbing Codes, Electrical Codes, and any and all other codes related to the City of Donaldsonville.
The Foremen of the Code Enforcement Department shall perform activities of the workers supervised and such other activities that may be directed by the Director of Public Works and the Mayor.

Public Works Department
The Director of Public Works shall direct and be responsible for: the supervision of engineering services for all department and agencies, supervision of all contract construction work, supervision of maintenance of city government property, supervision of any mapping and surveying of the City, supervision of construction and maintenance performed by the City Government on roads, sidewalks, bridges, and drainage facilities, supervision of the garbage and track collection and disposal, supervision and operation of a central facility for the repair and maintenance of the city government vehicles and equipment. The Director of Public Works shall have the authority to supervise all of the departments of the City and their respective foreman, including but not limited to all other departments. Other such activities as may be directed by the Mayor.
Natural Gas Department
The foreman of the Natural Gas Department shall direct and be responsible for: operation and maintenance of the gas distribution system, supervision of contract construction work related to the Natural Gas Division, and shall perform the activities of the workers supervised, and other such activities as may be directed by the Mayor.
Road & Cultural Activites Department
The Foreman of Roads and Cultural Activities Department shall have the authority to supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures, buildings, streets, parks, drainage, sanitation lines, and grounds, parks and playgrounds, and perform activities of workers supervised and such other activities that may be directed by the Director of Municipal Services Department and the Mayor.
Wastewater System
The Foreman of the Wastewater System Department shall direct and be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment system, and shall perform such activities as may be performed by the workers supervised, and any other activities that may be directed by the Director of Public Works and the Mayor.

Legal Department
The City Attorney serves as the chief legal advisor and representative for the city, providing legal guidance to the Mayor, City Council, city departments, boards, and commissions. This role ensures that all municipal actions comply with local, state, and federal laws while protecting the city’s legal interests.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and approving contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws. The City Attorney represents the city in litigation, administrative proceedings, and negotiations, advocating on behalf of municipal interests. They provide legal opinions on a wide range of issues, including land use, employment law, public safety, zoning, economic development, and ethics. Additionally, the City Attorney advises on risk management strategies to minimize legal exposure and ensures compliance with public records and open meetings laws.
