The Donaldsonville Mayor and City Council recognized the 2016-2017 Ascension Catholic girls track team Tuesday, June 13, 2017.
The ACHS team won the LHSAA Class 1A state championship in Baton Rouge in May. The Bulldogs topped Haynesville and Lafayette Christian for the title.
Ascension Catholic became the first Class 1A school to win district, regional, and state championships in three consecutive years.
The members of the team are: Sophie Daigle, Breanna Bernard, Kenshell Davis, Victoria Eure, Whitney Eure, Stephanie Breaux, Bailey LeBlanc, Haley Dupre, Caroline Mistretta, and Rodnekia Mitchell.
Coaches are Janet Daigle, Timmy Daigle, Kiley Spano, AJ Thibodeaux, Karen Gilmore, and Charlie Labuz.
