Donaldsonville celebrates Avenue Evening Stroll 2015

To all of our friends and supporters, we thank you for participating in the Donaldsonville Avenue Evening Stroll.

This year, like many year's past was another huge success...despite our tradition of praying for the rain to stop before the event. And like in years past, our prayers were answered!

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude and appreciation for all of our partners, volunteers, merchants, and supporters. The event this year was another fantastic one and the feedback has been incredibly positive for all involved.

Our attendance based on trolley rides, patrons to the park, and merchants was estimated to be approximately 800 to 1000.

Early feedback regarding sales from vendors and merchants was also very positive.

This year, there were over 200 people alone who participated in our opening ceremonies, merchant program, entertainment, exhibitors, and arts and crafters.

Most impressively, there were nearly 75 volunteers who made the Evening Avenue Stroll a reality.

We want to thank our vendors, merchants, and community partners; the Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce, the Donaldsonville Historic Commission, the LDRC, the Donaldsonville Fire Department Association, the River Road African American Museum, and the Flying Falcons.

Of course, no event could be produced without our cherished sponsors, the Ascension Parish Tourism Commission, Entergy, Capital One, the City of Donaldsonville, Donadsonville Body and Glass Works, CF, and the Donaldsonville Downtown Development District.

Also, please join us in congratulating Kathe Hambrick Jackson and Missy Jandura for being awarded certificates of achievement for their commitment to promoting the City of Donaldsonville and for their efforts to preserve our historic city.

Finally, we want to recognize our volunteer coordinators, Richard Zeringue, Lisa Matassa, Geri Melancon, Juanita Pearley, Casey Bundick, and the Pi Sigma Epsilon Chapter at Southern University.

Special thanks also to Tamiko Terraz Stroud, Miss Teen Donaldsonville, Ashley Barbier, Miss LSU, Donaldsonville High School Marching Band, Ascension Catholic High School Flash mob performers, Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church Choir, Emmanuel Baptist Church Dance Troupe, the Chosen One's Dance Troupe, Ashlyn and Alexia Carbo, Alayna Carbo, Leroy Willams, Nakita Gibson, Joseph Young, Rose Hill Choir, Haley Bouchereau, King PakaYae featuring Van Broussard, and the Michael Foster Project and the Ascension Catholic Church Choir.
