Robyn Penn Delaney of the city's LDRC said the award was for municipalities with 3,001 to 10,000 residents.
The LDRC noted the new city logo and web site, www.donaldsonville-la.gov, in entering the contest.
In presenting the plaque to city officials, Delaney said the group plans to submit the new improvements to Crescent Park for the next competition.
