City officials sign $7.1 million DEQ loan


City Council members Charles Brown, Reginald Francis, Brent Landry, Raymond Aucoin, Lauthaught Delaney, Mayor Leroy Sullivan, City Attorney Chuck Long, and Finance Director Sandra Williams join for the signing of documents for a $7.1 million DEQ loan.

Donaldsonville officials have secured a $7.1 million loan from the state Department of Environmental Quality to address the city's sewer infrastructure.

The terms of the loan included a .95 percent interest rate.

Mayor Leroy Sullivan said Tuesday the loan will allow the city to work on several sewer projects to improve the overall infrastructure, allowing for more growth and capacity.
