Welcome To Our City

MayorOutside

Welcome to the City of Donaldsonville, Louisiana. “Respecting Our Past and Building Our Future” is our theme. We are a historic community with a past we will not forget but we also have a vision for our future. As you will notice, we have respected our past by adding different languages that have been a part of Donaldsonville’s history below. I invite you, your family, friends, and future residents and business owners to visit our website and explore what our city has to offer.

In 2011 we engaged a group of citizens to work with the Louisiana Economic Development team to learn more about our city and what can be done to prepare for the future. We applied and were awarded to be “A Ready City Community” whereby we looked at the good,  the bad and the ugly.  Our city logo was well over 50 years old and did not promote our city any longer. Our website was outdated and needed many changes to capture the new changes we have encountered over the years, and our infrastructure needed repair. Our city was a beautiful and historic place but needed a little guidance to update. We want to thank all who worked tirelessly and who continue to work for our community.

Please enjoy our site!

-Mayor Leroy J Sullivan, Sr.
